I am not going to try to convince you to cruise or not to cruise but just imagine this. You are lazing on the deck of a floating city as you glide past the rooftops of Athens , Venice or the clifftops of Santorini. Stepping off the gangway you’re immersed in the life of a different city each day.
Tour the worlds museums, explore the ancient ruins or just nurse a coffee while you people watch from a side walk cafe. After a busy day in port you can head back to your cozy cabin each night without ever having to pack a suitcase or catch a train. As the sun sets and the ship leaves port, you have a choice of dining options. From formal tuxedos and ball gowns to a poolside burgher after a swim. This is followed by a world of nightlife. Later that night while asleep the ship gently plows through the calm Mediterranean and you awake the next day ready to do it all again.
Another advantage of cruising is that it accommodates a family or group who all have different travel philosophies. So if Mom wants a day relaxing at the pool Dad can explore with the kids and then all get together for dinner and swap stories of the perfect day.
I was once told by someone who worked on board that you get two types of people on a cruise. Those that stay in their rooms, refusing to try the dozens of activities offered each day, complain about everything and then those that get out and try to get to know their fellow passengers, make the most of being at sea and have the time of their lives.
