Weddings at Sea….

So this week i am going to be bridesmaid at my best friends wedding, i can’t wait as I’ve not been married yet myself however love a good wedding! I am really excited an honored to see her get married, she will make a beautiful bride.

It got me thinking, a lot of people get married in this country and a lot nowadays also like to fly off somewhere sunny and get married abroad but did you know you can get married at sea? If you love cruising and are looking to get married then this is just the thing for you!

Weddings at sea can be the ultimate in romance. Imagine tying the knot under a palm tree on a caribbean island or being married by a uniformed captain in the middle of the ocean.

Not all cruise lines offer them, but some of the ones that do are; Azamara, Carnival, Celebrity, Cunard, Disney, Holland and America Line,  Norwegian cruise line, P&O, Princess and Royal Caribbean.

They all offer different wedding packages, which generally include, the ceremony, a wedding coordinator, flowers, button hole and wedding cake etc. You would also be given the opportunity to add on extras to your package such as, different music for your ceremony, up graded floral arrangements, photography and so on.

Like any wedding there is lots to think about and preparation is key – there are only a limited number of ‘wedding spaces’ available on each cruise and you need to arrange your licence with the appropriate authorities i advance. The planning process may take well over a year or so.
