Thomson cruises unveils it’s Summer 2018 programme and the part that stands out the best for me is definitely the fact that the Tui Discovery will be sailing from Newcastle Port of Tyne from May 2018. I think this is great news for us northerners as previously we’ve not had much choice sailing from this close to home.
The Tui Discovery is an award winning ship and joined the Thomson fleet this summer, previously operated by Royal Caribbean. It’s now one of the biggest Thomson ships, with highlights such as an outdoor cinema, rock climbing wall, five story atrium and an indoor pool. And the best bit – on Tui Discovery, everyone goes all inclusive from this summer. This means your drinks including prosecco and cider, plus meals in five restaurants and most of the on board activities will all be part of the deal!
Starting in May 2018 she will sail from Newcastle up to the Norwegian Fjords and a range of exciting cities including Stockholm, Sweden; Tallinn, Estonia and Reykjavik, Iceland. Passengers sailing on these Baltic cruises can also make use of there time in the region with an overnight on board stay in St Petersburg, Russia.
She will then move to Southampton in September 2018 where she will finish the summer sailing a further four itineraries; Fantastic Fjords, Baltic Treasures, European Experience and Seeking the Northern Lights.
I feel this is a good move for Thomson and will attract a lot of customers in both the North and South of the Country, they go on sale on the 20th April 2017.
Do you think this is a good move for Thomson? I would love to hear your thoughts….thanks for reading.
