Travel Insurance….When do you buy yours??

You wouldn’t believe how many people travel without insurance or don’t take any out until the last minute before travelling, but do you realize that until you take out your insurance your not covered! I always ask my clients when booking, do you have your travel insurance in place and the majority would say ‘no i’ll sort it out later’ or ‘no it’s too early i’ll get it nearer the time’.

We recommend taking out travel insurance as soon as you have booked your cruise as you will then be covered for cancellation, most people presume that your only covered whilst your away for things like money, baggage, passports and medical etc. However your covered from the moment you take it out.

People book cruises so far in advance these days and also your balance is due around 17 weeks prior to departure and anything could happen between then and travelling and you just never know what is around the corner, i’d say it’s worth pulling out that little extra money in advance to purchase your insurance rather than taking the risk of loosing all your money in case something unexpected does happen!

Some people also think they don’t need insurance when going to Europe that they will be covered by the Ehic scheme, However this only provides cover for the equivalent of the national health, in the country your travelling to. In some of these countries they are expected to contribute towards medical cost so you could end up paying huge bills.

Don’t forget your insurance and don’t leave it until the last minute!
