Cruising is fast taking over the travel world, with more and more realising the benefits and appeal of the type of travelling. How you can wake up each day to a new destination, enjoy sheer luxury and have a vast range of such unforgettable experiences.
Virgin is the newest brand announcing that they will be launching cruise ships and they have revealed the their first ship will be called Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady. The reason behind the name is that they are want to try and employ more female members of staff and train and support them to rise to leadership roles in such areas as marine, technical and hotel management which typically have low numbers of women bosses. Good idea i think!
Scarlet Lady is being constructed in Genoa and will first set sail in Miami in 2020, then followed by her sister ship later that year.
Want to know more about Virgin Voyages, well here is a few facts for you and them and their new ship –
The liner will be very environmentally friendly and will be banning plastics, such as straws, plastic bottles, condiment packets, shopping bags, food packages, take away coffee and tea cups. Guests will have access to free filtered still and sparkling water at all bars and restaurants.
www.CRUISE.co.uk were lucky enough to join the cruise line’s construction milestones in Italy, this included the flooding of the ship’s dry dock and a ceremony to cut the first pieces of steel for its second ship…How exciting!
I think it all sounds very good and can’t wait to hear more details in the future, but what are your thoughts? Would this type of cruise suit you?
