Babies on board!

The thought of taking a baby on board a cruise can be a daunting experience, but with the facilities and amenities available on board many ships, they can make for a perfect , stress free holiday.

My little girl is 15 month now and i can’t wait to take her on a cruise! I’ve put together some useful information if your thinking of going on a cruise with a young one.

Ages – Many cruise lines except babies from the age of 6 months on wards however some are different so it’s always best to check first.

Facilities – Most cruise lines offer a nursery/kids club for babies and some even offer a baby sitting service (extra charge) so when you want some quality time alone to go for a nice meal or a few cocktails – then you can! They offer lots of activities for little ones such as Arts and Crafts, Soft play, Puppet shows plus lots more to keep your baby entertained. The staff are all fully trained so you can leave then knowing they will be in good hands.

Bottles and Meals – If you baby is still on formula milk then don’t panic bottle warming is usually available on request and also bottle sterilizing. As for meals that is all taken care of , foods can be pureed and blended if needed on most ships and if you wish to take your own then that is also fine. Other things to that they can usually offer are high chairs, booster seats and also cots in your cabin. You can also pre-order nappies on some ships so a lot of things are easily taking care of to make things easier for you.

Pools – Now for most this will be important to know, i no for me it certainly is, A lot of cruise lines require children to be potty trained before allowing them in to the pool however some do have a splash pool that babies can use.
