P&O have just announced that from April 2019 Aurora will become an adults only ship, joining Arcadia and Oriana as exclusive for adults.
The 1874 passenger vessel will be converted into an adult only ship in March when she under goes a refit. The decision was made after lots of research and feedback from customers.
Clients that are already booked on Aurora with children are being contacted and offered the option of re-booking on to one of P&O’s child friendly ships; Azura, Britannia, Oceana and Ventura. However clients wishing to cancel have the option of a full refund and are being offered a future cruise deposit of 5% of the value of their cruise. However families book early with P&O as they have limited children’s spaces on their ships so i do hope that those cancelling on Aurora and hoping to re-book on another ship do find something available and to suit them.
I personally don’t think it will effect too much in the future, P&O still have a very good choice for all ages and something to suit everyone, with the family friendly ships having a great range of activities and children’s clubs, to the adult only ships for people who want to escape that and have peace and serenity.
It’s exciting to see what changes they will make on Aurora during the refit to make it more adult only like, maybe a new restaurant or bars who knows but i’m sure it will be great, we will have to wait and see. Unfortunately i’ve not sailing on Aurora before so will not get a first hand look or experience to see exactly what the changes are.
Have you sailed on Aurora before? What do you make of this change, do you think it will have a positive or negative effect on P&O? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks for reading.
