New ships for Cunard and Azamara- Have your say on the naming.

This weeks big news is that Cunard will be adding another Queen to it’s fleet. I am presuming she will be another Queen and will join the feet in 2022.

The Cunard Queens are very traditional in style & decor, talk now is will they stick with this and add a touch of the modern.

The new ship will carry 3,000 guests and join Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth as the fourth member of the Cunard fleet, the first time since 1998 that the luxury cruise brand will have four ships in simultaneous service.

Alongside an array of exciting new itineraries featuring destinations and special event voyages for 2018 and 2019, Cunard has also continued to evolve the guest experience to meet the needs of the consumer by introducing new bar and dining signatures, entertainment offerings and brand partners across the fleet.

As she is un-named at the moment there is a lot of speculation as to what her name will be, join our poll and have your say… https://goo.gl/FXTZVM

Also adding to their fleet is Azamara but not from new, they have purchased P&Os Adonia which i find strange as this is about the only ship of P&O that gets a high percentage of good reviews.

The new Azamara ship has already been named – Azamara Pursuit – I suppose that links up with the other 2 ships, the Azamara Quest and Azamara Journey.

The Adonia, soon to be the Azamara Pursuit is similair in size to the Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest. This allowing visits to the more unique ports that the larger ships are unable to reach. Together, the three ships will support the brand’s commitment to enrich destination immersion around the world, by staying longer in port to allow guests to experience more. #AzAmazingevenings

The ship’s décor will be updated to match the brand’s upmarket position. These updates will be similar to the renovations recently introduced on the Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest, bringing guests the experience of a boutique hotel at sea.

The Adonia currently carries 777 passengers with 9 passenger decks so will be interesting to see what Azamara do with her.

She will retire with P&O in Barbados on 9th March 2018.

So what are your views on this?
Will you miss the Adonia or try her once she has been transformed into Azamara Pursuit?

I’ve sailed with Azamara and it was quite a wonderful experience so I’d love to see how the Adonia will settle into the Azamara product having not sailed on the Adonia.
