Hello All,
It’s been a while since I have posted on here, to be honest I do not know where the past year has gone, and it certainly has been a strange one, seeing us sailing through unchartered waters, although not being on a cruise – unfortunately.
However news on the Vaccine is bring much need positively to the Travel Industry and we are seeing big changes across the board when it comes to Cruising Again, some I think will be a big benefit to the industry and others perhaps not as much. We are still unsure about what the experience will be on board, but at the same time all slowly going mad waiting to get away on another cruise.
Whilst MSC and RCI have started cruising, the UK market has not been allowed to join so it is still a waiting game, however for some it might not be much longer.
SAGA Cruise Lines is one of the first cruise lines to release more firm, set in stone details which would lead them restarting. They had planned to start in April but with all the new guidelines they are pushing to May with the Inaugural of there newest ship – The Spirit of Adventure which is a sister to the popular Spirit of Discovery which will restart on the 2nd June.
Now this is not much different to the other cruise lines you might think, but they have said,
‘It is with this in mind that we have once more reviewed our health and safety procedures to ensure we are providing the safest possible cruise experience. We have taken the decision to introduce the requirement that all guests must be fully vaccinated against COVID‑19 at least 14 days before sailing with us. This new measure will be in addition to the detailed arrangements we have already made in preparation for our return to service, which have been recognised and led to us being the first operator to receive the highest possible standard of health and safety protocols from Lloyd’s Register.’
This makes SAGA the first company to make it compulsory to have had a COVID19 vaccine in order to board and cruise, along with having the tests prior to going.
This will be easier for SAGA than most as they exclusively for the over 50’s, although they will allow a younger person to travel as long as they are accompanied by someone over 50.
However since SAGA have retired the older, smaller and some would say ships that look like ships – SAGA have driven down the route of the more Luxury vessels, offering All Balcony, All Inclusive Cruises, and some top notch food on board, in fact I have recently spoken to someone who is a top Azamara Guest and, he was raving about the food on board SAGA.
From the off, SAGA may seem expensive, and I’ll admit sometimes I have looked when looking for deals and thought it is a little pricey, but Book With SAGA and you get,
New Modern and Luxurious state of the Art Ships – Always All Inclusive – Every Cruise Sails from the UK – Southampton or Dover – Included Sightseeing Tours – Travel to the Port Included. – Little extras included such as Wifi, Room Service and Shuttle Bus at most ports.
They also include Insurance that has Covid Cover included and a Price Promise so should the price come down you are protected.
I think if you asked a none SAGA cruiser of there thoughts on Sailing with SAGA, they would say they are for Older People but they really have upped there Game and now playing in the World of Luxury Cruising along side Cunard, Holland America and Celebrity.
We are also now seeing the likes of Royal Caribbean and NCL stating that all crew will need to have the vaccine, it does appear it will be something we all have to do if we want to travel.
Have you been on board SAGA, would love to hear your thoughts?
Thats all for now folks, Thanks for reading.
Tom
