Is the person sat next to you carrying 20kg of Weapons? You might want to ask after reading this!

Now when you are packing your suitcase for your holiday this isn’t the first thing we think to pack.

59974878_thumbnailThe other day I was helping a lady book her flights to Rome, and she said to me what the policy with regards to Infants is. Now this should be a nice and easy thing to find but not with Alitalia.

After quite a bit of searching we found the information we wanted however I was quite surprised to see the following statement below,

WEAPONS AND AMMUNITION

Weapons and ammunition are not included in the baggage allowance. They must be registered during check-in, subject to payment of a flat-rate surcharge based on the flight destination. Each passenger is allowed to carry a maximum of 20 kg of weapons and a maximum of 5 kg of ammunition.

It’s not really the type of thing you expect to see an airlines site, which is in the grand scheme of thing relatively easy information to find.

Airlines will carry weapons from time to time but to be honest it’s normally very hush-hush, but with Alitalia you just turn up at check in from the looks of it? Whatever next!
