Big news for 2020!

2020 is set to be a huge year for the UK Cruise Industry and especially for Southampton.

So this week we have had confirmation that Royal Caribbean will bring the Anthem of the Seas back to Southampton in 2020, the ship that will join her is yet to be announced, I doubt it will be Independence but with all of the ship out of the UK Presence is got to be there to get the market.

Princess have also taken a bold move and decided to place, not 1, not 2 but 3 ships out of the UK, with the Crown Princess doing a full season, Island Princess from June to October and the Regal Princess which is a first for Southampton doing around the UK Cruises. They have also said that the Sky Princess will do the Baltics.

So more big news is that the new Royal Class Ship – Enchanted Princess will be named in Southampton in June 2020 before sailing off to the Med. This really is a bold move with 3 of the Flag Class – Royal Ships being based in Europe.

Princess is very much jumping on the bandwagon as Celebrity will also name there newest ship – Celebrity Apex – Sister to the Celebrity Edge in 2020 and then she will sail a maiden season out of the UK to showcase the Edge Class ships off.

This is not taking in to account the other ships that already call Southampton home but 2020 will enable cruises to experience something new and different or even sail back on an old flame as although not new to the UK Crown Princess has been away for a couple of years.

This is without MSC and NCL being on sale for 2020 so some more major news could be just over the horizon.
