On Monday this week, it marked a moment in history for P&O as the brand new ship for P&O Cruises – P&O Iona went on sale. Monday was the sale day for the top tiers within the P&O loyalty club and today for the everyone.
Iona will be the largest ship built exclusively for the UK market, and the first LPG Fuelled ship for P&O, hopefully, one of many as they are significantly better for the environment. That has always been limitations for Norway as Norway is very aware of the damage all of these ships take on the environment, LGP Fuelled ships takes away a lot of the damage hence why Iona is able to do Norway so much, and it is absolutely stunning.
She will be a big girl at 180,000 gross tons and 5200 passengers, she is set to impress.
She will have open plan Atrium – The Grand Atrium will be at the heart of Iona and be the heart of the ship, the Atrium will be on decks 6, 7 and 8 and has panoramic views and be bathed in Sunlight. The big thing that P&O has said is that Iona has been designed to make the most of destinations that she cruises too.
The Grand Atrium will be one of the four primary entertainment spaces on board and you will have things to do around the clock, be it just a coffee or watching some of the nightly entertainment, but one thing is for sure that the views will be stunning!
The Conservatory Mini Suites are also a new and exciting addition to P&O Cruises and exclusive to the Iona. These rooms have a lovely open plan feel meaning you can bring the outside in, in fairness I think this is very similar to the Infinity Balconies on board the Celebrity Edge.
So she is now on sale, and with a 5% deposit for Select fare bookings, what are you waiting for?
We have additional discounts but don’t forget to tell us you have been with P&O before as you can get up to 10% off the prices in addition so we have some smashing prices.
P&O Cruises senior vice president, Paul Ludlow, said: “This is the year for those who have never before considered a cruise to see the broadest range of stunning ports of call and exclusive dining experiences. The brochure also features Iona’s inaugural season in the Norwegian fjords, a destination that should only be experienced by sea to appreciate fully the spectacular landscape and activities.”
Then next week we will see the Launch of Summer 2020 for the remaining ships in the P&O fleet.
What are you looking to do in 2020?
