Many will disagree with what Celebrity are about to do, but I suppose this is a sign of the times, Celebrity have announced that from December they will no longer feature Formal Nights in the Main Dining room on any of their ships with the exception of the Celebrity Xpedition, it will be known as Evening Chic.

Following in the Sophistication of their ships, Celebrity have seen this to be a way to attract the younger more modern market but without going Casual.

Evening Chic will be more formal than the Smart Casual found on other nights but not as dressy as the formal attire. They have made the change after listening to what Guests want and the mix of passengers found on board Celebrity Cruises.

Celebrity Cruises, Brian Abel whom is the vice president of hotel operations said’ Where one couple might feel most glamorous in a tuxedo and gown, another might feel more elegant in a sport jacket and designer black jeans and a flirty sundress.’

“As we’re watching our guests, we see this is how they’re vacationing. They are becoming more casual but at the same time, still sophisticated,” he also said. “They still want great food and great service, but they want to experience it in a more relaxed, casual way.”
