On Sunday 3rd May 2015 this marked the start of a very special year for Cunard, the 175th Anniversary of this amazing cruise line. It saw Queen Mary 2, the flag ship in the Cunard fleet along with her two sisters, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth arrive home after their 2015 World Cruises.
Another special occasion for the port city of Southampton as 2015 has been a busy year already with Britannia being launched in March and Anthem of the Seas in April.
Along with the 3 Queens, Anthem of the Seas was docked along with Fred Olsen’s Balmoral. This was a rather exciting day as it always is when the 3 Queens are in but it was the first time I had seen the new Quantum Class for Royal Caribbean and I think seeing the ship in person so to speak does it more justice than the photos do, so I wanted to share a few from the day with you.
I hope all those North of the country will do so when the 3 Queens arrive in Liverpool later this month.
You have to have a look at this, Kiera Rathbone who created a piece of art of the 3 Queens which will be displayed with other countless pieces of artwork on board the Queen Mary 2.
Queen Mary 2 Docked in the Ocean Terminal
Queen Elizabeth in the QE2 Terminal
Anthem of the Seas in City Terminal, Balmoral in Berth 102 and Queen Victoria in Mayflower Terminal
Anthem of the Seas leaving Southampton and the North Star!
After which the Queen Mary 2 lead Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth down the Solent.
FOREVER CUNARD!
Will you be at Liverpool?
