Hi I’m Roxie.
From a young age I’ve been obsessed with cruising. I’ve been lucky enough to practically grow up on them with both my parents working for various cruise lines over the years.
As soon as I was old enough to apply I went straight to Miami and joined Carnival Cruise Lines as a Purser. I spent a couple of years there and when I old enough I joined Princess as a Junior Assistant Purser. I was super lucky and got picked for their Alaska Familiarisation trip. I literally spent two weeks in Alaska doing all of the tours. One morning we would be landing on a glacier by helicopter, snow shoeing up a mountain and then boarding the famous Scenic White Pass Railroad up to the Yukon.
After I left Princess Cruises, I moved to South Africa where I worked for the largest retail travel agency there, specialising in cruise and long haul destinations. As my visa was due to expire, the cruise bug got me again and I joined Royal Caribbean as a Guest Services Officer. That was such a great experience as I got to learn all the little questions that people may have before they board that might not be on the cruise line website. Well I missed Shore Excursions and as soon as an opening became available, I went back there. I was then transferred to the beautiful Quantum of the seas. I wasn’t there long and the office asked me to step up to be Port Lecturer on Explorer out of the UK. There was just one problem…. I had terrible stage fright. Eventually I got over it and became Assistant Shore Excursions manager were I had to do regular port talks, Onboard TV interviews and be on the Microphone for tour dispatch. So I had no choice 🙂
All good things must come to an end and I decided it was time to come back to land and try a normal life. Two years back and I still cant walk in straight lines.
I’m really looking forward to helping you with all of your cruise needs
