I really look forward to sea days during my cruises. You might have a jam packed itinerary with plenty of ports to visit so your sea days might need to be more relaxing or maybe you have a cruise from Southampton with more sea days giving you the opportunity to really experience ship life.
There are so many ways to enjoy your days at sea. Check out the daily programme of activities to see what you fancy doing!
My biggest tip is to plan your day in order not to miss out on your favourite activities or book your space in advance. The beauty of cruising is you could actually do all of these on 1 sailing day or just a couple.
Here are some of my best past times..
Enjoy a relaxing breakfast or lunch.
Buffets in the mornings can be total chaos! Especially if you choose to dine at a popular time or just before the buffet closes! Check out the main dining room or treat yourself to the speciality dining. The experience is similar to your evening meal.
You can choose from the menu and be served in a much more relaxing atmosphere. It does take more time, but if you are on a sea day who cares?
Book into the spa.
Treat yourself to a treatment or two.. I normally wait until the last part of the cruise because you may pick up a special offer.
Learn something new.
The last cruise I went on featured a talk by Ben Fogle. Wow what an amazing guy. He was so inspirational and is famous for much more than I knew. Guest speakers are popular on most cruises and classes to learn how to cook or make cocktails are so popular. Wine tasting! It is something that you would like to do but don’t often get the opportunity to do at home.
Afternoon tea.
I love afternoon tea! The delicate sandwiches and pastries. I even had mini fish and chips once! The cakes and macaroons are so delicious. Why not upgrade to a champagne afternoon tea! Lovely!
Try something sporty or thrilling!
Rock climbing, zip line, sky diving, or even mini golf! There are so many sporting activities on-board to be sampled.
I love team competition or something as a group. I took part in a walk on the Celebrity Eclipse for breast cancer. It was so good to take part in something and raise awareness at the same time.
Relax in the sanctuary.
Hire a cabana or just relax by the pool. Great way to unwind and really relax. Invite friends along too. It works out cheaper and the more the merrier!
How do you spend your sea days?
I would love to hear from you
Thanks for reading!
