The Christmas Markets Arrive in Manchester!
The Christmas markets have arrived in Manchester this weekend just in time for the weather to get really cold! I took an early trip to hopefully avoid the crowds. I headed out of town to Media City where the markets and activities are on a much smaller scale but we thoroughly enjoyed it! The smell of fresh cooked food was amazing! There was so much choice and saving space for something sweet after was very difficult! The sweet treats had to be taken home for later.
The highlight for me was the carousel and the snow globe.
There was also a big red bus which was transformed into a bar! That I will have to save when I take a trip with the girls!
The Christmas markets are very popular across Europe and taking a cruise to some of these places is also a great option.
Last year I visited Bruges and will visit again this year. The city is so beautiful and only a short trip from Zeebrugge. The city is surrounded by canals and the markets will not disappoint. Stalls are located at Market square and there is also an ice rink if you are feeling adventurous! Bruges is the most picturesque cities I have visited and would recommend a trip there to visit the markets.
River cruising is also popular at this time of year because of the beauty of the winter sunshine and Christmas feel.
Prague has markets over 2 squares and even has a stable with animals that children can pet.
Vienna is host to over 150 stalls centred round the city hall. There are activities for children too including nativity plays and concerts.
My parents visited Germany last year and with the snow and the Christmas decorations it looked beautiful!
Will you be visiting any Christmas markets?
Where will you go?
Thanks for reading
Lots of love Rosie xxx
