My cruise and stay holiday

As you read this I will be cruising on MSC Musica for my family holiday.
I couldn’t decide what to do this year as we obviously love cruising but my kids also love an all inclusive hotel we have been to a few times over the last few years
I looked into both options and the cruise was by far the better deal
I booked when there was a free drinks package which is a huge saving for us
We like a few drinks on holiday and my kids drinks lots of mocktails on holiday which can be just as expensive as alcohol
The MSC drinks package is very good as it also includes a range of drinks including wine, beer, spirits , cocktails, liquers, mocktails, milkshakes, smoothies, speciality tea and coffee and unlimited ice-cream. MSC are an Italian cruise line so no whippy ice-cream , it is gelato ice-cream served in cones or cups.
The ship is older than what I would have normally chosen but the itinerary was good and included Santorini which has been on my list for a long time now
I have always wanted to go to Venice so as the ship sailing is sailing from there have added a stay before and after
The flights were very cheap with Easyjet so I am staying 1 night pre cruise in Venice Mestre which is much easier for transfers and only 15 minutes from the airport
After the cruise I am staying 2 nights on Venice Island which I am really looking forward to .
The kids were hoping for waterslides and flowriders but I am sure they will have a great time in the swimming pool and working their way through the drinks and ice-creams
They also love the evening shows and dining out so they will still have a great time without all the gimmicks on the big new ships
