Record number of passengers cruising from the UK

According to a recent report by the CLIA ( Cruise Lines International Association ) cruise passengers for the UK and Ireland have broken records with an all time high of 1,789.000 passengers in 2015.
They have claimed that this record number of sales has been boosted by the likes of brand new ships such as Anthem of the Seas and Britannia cruising out of a British port.
I think this will only increase over the coming year with more and more people feeling nervous about travelling through airports and feeling insecure about their safety in foreign ports.
I have lost count of the number of people who have told me they were unsure of what to do for their holidays this year due to the current situation around the world and although a cruise would visit foreign countries they felt it would be a safer way to travel with airports being on constant high alert. It is not just the safety issue either. Obviously there is a more enhanced security in the airports which I am sure we all agree is essential and we are more than happy to go through extra screening to ensure our safety. However this is all causing many people to think they don’t need such a stressful start to their holiday and it is much easier to get to a British port and board a cruise ship. After all as soon as you are on board your holiday begins.
In addition to this there are some of the newest and most innovative ships cruising from our ports now so we no longer have to board an aircraft to get the biggest and best ships.
It is not long now until we see the brand new Ovation of the Seas making its maiden voyage from Southampton on the 14th April and the Harmony of the Seas on the 22nd May.
Ovation of the Seas is a Quantam class ship with all the new features such as North Star, Skydiving Simulator, Dodgem Cars aswell as old features such as Rock Climbing and Surf Simulator.

The Harmony of the Seas is an Oasis Class ship with old favourites such as the neighbourhood areas plus the new water slide area with 3 slides collectively called “The Perfect Storm “ plus a 10 storey high slide on the back of the ship called “The Abyss “

There is something for everyone now with smaller more traditional ships to huge new superliners.
I am going on holiday in the summer and will brave the hassle of airports but also have a cruise booked to Norway next year which I am already looking forward to.
If you are considering a cruise why not give me a call so I can help find the best cruise for you.
