Who’s up for the challenge of beating this couple’s cruising record?

When I saw this article on the news board it made me smile instantly.  A couple who have beaten the record of number of days at sea with the same cruise line!  Bernard and Janice Caffary must love Carnival cruise lines an awful lot and that comes through in their glowing testimonials and the fact that they have spent 878 days at sea with them in the past 15 years.  That’s the equivalent of 2 and a half years at sea!  Amazingly for about 90% of their cruises they have also stayed in the same suite and have got to know the crew members so well they consider them to be like family.

What a wonderful way to spend your retirement after all those years working hard.   I would love to spend my retirement travelling.  I must admit however, the one thing I would do differently is to travel with a variety of cruise-lines.  So far I have traveled with Royal Caribbean and P&O and have had a brilliant time but have many more ship visits planned and hope cruise with them all in the future.  I believe that variety is the spice of life and with so many options and experiences you can have on different cruise-lines I could not just stick to one for every cruise.  What do you think?
