Bye 2014 Hello 2015

Well 2014 has not been a disappointment for me.  I was lucky enough to cruise on Royal Caribbeans Adventure of the Seas in April which was fantastic.  Even though it was working on board I met great people and the ship and service was excellent.

In November I flew to Venice, which has always been on my to do list and stayed there a couple of nights,  went on board MSC Preziosa for a few nights.  MSC have had a bad write up with passengers complaining about food and service so this was my opportunity to see what was what .  I had no complaints, the myths of bad food and service were all quashed in my mind, yes the announcements were in different languages however these were very frequent and you will get these announcements on any ship departing from Venice or even Barcelona.

I have recently been on Cunard QM2 for a mini cruise, again with work and this was my first experience on Cunard actually at sea.  I have visited Queen Elizabeth but that was a day visit.  I had high hopes for Cunard especially as they boast about their excellent service.  I could not fault them, all the crew were happy and the service was excellent.  If I had to grumble, the waiters in the main restaurant seemed a little slap dash, what I mean by that was they didn’t know whose side plate was whose, so the bread was all mixed up, also as the food arrived this was mixed up too.  This was easily rectified but the 5 star standard, I believe had crept down a little.  I would  still cruise with them again though.

So here is to 2015 and lets see what this year will bring.  I can see that the cruise lines have some excellent offers now.  So Happy New Year to you all.
