It’s About Time !

Southampton is one of the busiest cruise ports in the UK and is really in need of a full revamp to keep up with the growing cruise market. So many passengers embark on their cruise from Southampton and to be honest the check in area is quite poor and dingy, especially when your just about to travel on a luxury cruise liner you would expect speedier check ins as well as more up to date seating areas. At the minute so many passengers incur stressful waiting times which it is the last thing anyone wants to be doing before their cruise.

Well I have some good news for you all , the Mayflower cruise terminal in Southampton will undergo a major refurbishment, thanks to a £6 million investment from the Associated British Ports.

The renovation will be totally re-designed where passengers check-in along with drop off and pick up areas. The Security facilities will also be improved which will make the entire experience less daunting. Space inside the terminal will be opened up with a new 35,000 square feet reception area where passengers can wait in comfort.

The refurbishment to the Mayflower terminal is expected to be completed by April 2015, just in time for the two new major ships which will be sailing from Southampton which are, P&O Britannia and Royal Caribbean’s Anthem Of The Seas which will be in April 2015.

This is brilliant news for passengers especially anyone who will be sailing on P&O’s new ship the Britannia, she will be making her debut in March 2015 and will be departing from the Mayflower Terminal which is excellent news,  just think no more flustering in stuffy terminals and waiting about in queues, you can enjoy a nice and easy check in and enjoy the new luxurious seating areas.
