Don’t Forget Your Passport:

What an awful and scary position to be in.

You arrive at the airport all excited and looking forward to your flight/cruise – then shock horror you realise that you have left your passport at home.

What do you do ?

Well weekend just gone I had an urgent phone call from one of my passengers who had arrived at the airport only to realise this!

She had forgotten her passport!

She had left me a voice message early on Saturday morning on my answer machine but I wasn’t supposed to be working but as I always do I log on early and check my emails and any voice messages-just in case.

I called my passenger on her mobile instantly to find out what was going on. She had advised me that she had to send the taxi driver back to her house to collect her passport and she had missed her flight to Venice.

I assisted her to see what other flights were departing that day and found an alternative flight but this wouldn’t arrive into Venice till 5.30pm!!! Argggh!

I then spoke to Princess cruises and luckily enough the cruise wasn’t departing from Venice till 11pm that evening and they would still be able to arranger her transfers and they said this would be fine, they would be picked up from the airport. My passenger booked her new flights and I called Princess with all new flight details and my passenger was all sorted.

She did have to pay £150 for the taxi to collect her passport and also £500 for the flights though. Understandably this was the passengers error but one thing I will say is- this is the beauty of booking through an agent, we are always here to help and assist you in every way we can and we will always make sure you get to your cruise on time. You are never alone. Imagine how hard this would of be if you had booked everything independently.

Has this ever happened to you ?
