A Bit Of A Twist With Fred Olsen Cruises !

Adult-only

Fred Olsen have just launched their new Worldwide cruise brochure for 2016/2017 but with a bit of a twist.  For certain Itineraries in 2016/2017 they have decided to launch twenty of their sailings which are going to be adult only, so basically that means children are banned, no one under the age of 18years old will be able to travel on any of these sailings. These cruises are being aimed at guests who would prefer not to see or hear children on their holiday.  The sailings will include a British Isles itinerary and Portuguese Islands and Cities.

This is a bit of an odd one because I will have to say Fred Olsen’s is not normally what I would call “family friendly ships”, yes in July/August they do have a few children on board but not as many as others such as P&O, Royal Caribbean, Princess and the likes of NCL.  So does this mean that Fred Olsen are looking at going Adult Only in the future ? mmmm your guess is as good as mine.

There is another twist to the tale, they have also announced that they are doing a “Maiden Call Mystery Cruise” where guest who are brave enough to take the plunge of booking without knowing where they’re going till they board!

Would you book a cruise and not know where you were going to ? Me personally I wouldn’t like to book a cruise till I knew where it was going !

What’s your thought on this ?
