Not Too Posh For P&O

I have some very interesting information for you all!

After a recent webinar with P&O, would you believe from next month you’ll be able to purchase an All Inclusive Drinks package whilst on board.

P&O are going to do a trial run on one of their ships this month to see how it goes. (No idea which cruise I’m afraid – guests will find out when they’re on-board). If the trial goes to plan and is a success then all-inclusive drinks packages are expected to be available across the entire P&O fleet late this year or early next!

My question to P&O is this – Really!!!????

Do you really think this a good idea ?

I think this is going to be a bad move for P&O. –  Brits abroad, late savers offers at £499pp and alcohol is really not the best mixture, the ships are just going to be full of drunken loons.

Your prices for drinks were already reasonable and I can’t understand your reasons for wanting to offer drinks packages, just really makes me think what sort of passengers is this going to attract ? (Can you imagine all the excessive drinking and brawls on board!)

Not the best move you have made but that’s my thoughts……….

What’s yours? Good or bad idea; do you think it encourage more people to book P&O?

  1. Wouldn’t it be better to offer single travellers a ‘NO SINGLE SUPPLEMENT’ just for once, making cruising more attainable to them

  2. I have been on eight cruises with Thomson on all of their ships and I always buy the all inclusive drinks package, well if you book very early as the holidays brochure comes out you can sometimes get it free. However, the point I would like to make is that the majority of people on the cruise have this package and I have never seen anyone drunk on board ship. There was one occasion when a young man got slightly abusive with his language and he was swiftly dealt with. I think because you can have a drink when you like without the worry of cost tends to slow you down because it;s there for the taking wheneveryou want. I would not go back on any cruise ship that allowed drunken behaviour. Have I just been lucky?
