Have you even thought about what your plans are for summer 2018? Have you booked your cruise/holiday for next year or are you going to wait for a deal to be released? Well in September this year 2 cruise lines will be releasing their Summer 2019 programmes ! Is this madness or clever thinking in trying to fill their ships earlier than the other cruise lines?
As there was a time when there was just two main cruise lines sailing from Southampton and these were P&O and Cunard. Then along came Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess, NCL and even MSC – and suddenly the die hard fans of P&O/Cunard were not so loyal and trying out the other cruise lines. So there is now more beds to fill, but with more choice on offer the cruise lines need to try to get their ships filled early so they are not having to sell them off cheaply nearer to departure.
Last year saw P&O and Cunard for the first time move the launch of their summer 2018 programme early to be in the September rather waiting until April this year, and news this week came out saying they will be doing the same this year September with the launch of their summer 2019 programme.
The key dates for your diary are as follows:
Pre Registration opens on the 4th September and the embargo on the prices and itineraries will be lifted so all the details will be released then.
Caribbean, Baltic and Ligurian tiers – bookings open on the 11 Sep 17 from 8AM – 8PM
Then on General Sale to all other tiers:
March to May 19 Departures on the 12 September at 8AM
June to Oct 19 Departures on the 13 September at 8AM
Cunard are due to be launching from the 14th September and is normally around 2pm in the afternoon.
