Anthem – I’m coming to get you

All eyes in the cruising industry, will be back on Southampton port again next weekend, as the newest ship for Royal Caribbean – the Anthem of the Seas will be making its debut into Southampton. She officially sets sail on the 22nd April 2015 on the maiden voyage, however there is two, two nights pre maiden voyages planned before the maiden one.and I am so excited that I will be on board on the 18th-20th April.

I am a huge Royal Caribbean fan and was disappointed I missed out on seeing Allure and Quantum when they were in Southampton last year. I am booked to sail later on in the year on Anthem with my partner for his birthday but jumped at the chance of being able to get on board earlier. On this sailing I am lucky enough to have been allocated a balcony cabin (so will be able to compare them with the Britannia cabin I had last month) and am travelling with 3 of my fabulous colleagues.

In two days there is so much to try to cram in – there is the dodgem cars, the North Star, the iFly sky diving simulator, watch the We will Rock you Musical, have a play in the new Escape from the Future (this is an interactive  room where you have to solve puzzles in teams to get out  – so a bit like the crystal maze/the cube), have a cocktail made by the Bionic bar,  and to try out lots of new restaurants and food. Anthem has also replaced the giant pink bear which can be found on the sister ship Quantum, with a giant Giraffe – now giraffes are my favourite animals so will definitely be having a photo or two with it.

I have just completed my online check-in and even uploaded my own security photo (took a while for the computer to like the photo – it was either to small, not the right colour background etc but I managed it) so I will be timing on my arrival if it really does just take 10 minutes from dropping my bags off to getting on board the ship. I will also be using the app to track my luggage and again see if this system works.

If you would like me to find anything out then please let me know, otherwise look out for my next blog which will be all about the Anthem of the Seas and my time on board.

Kerry
