CUBA New Destination for Royal Caribbean……………………………..

I was really thrilled to see Royal Caribbean will be featuring Cuba between January 2018 and March 2019. Customers are looking for some different destinations and Havana will be a real hit with  its architecture, food and music not to mention the Cuba Libres & Mojitos!

The line is adding 58 new departures to Havana with four and five-night durations on the Empress of the seas.

HAVANA- WHATS TO SEE AND DO……………..

It’s hard to do Havana justice in words. It’s a city that feels like a film set, thanks to its vintage Cadillacs and candy-coloured old town. Sitting still simply isn’t an option in Cuba’s capital – there’s so much to see. It’s packed with 19th-century cigar factories, Renaissance mansions, and galleries telling the story of the Revolution. And, at night, the city transforms into a haze of mojitos and salsa music.

• It’s easy to lose yourself in the labyrinth of Habana Vieja. The UNESCO-protected old town cocoons Spanish mansions and plazas lined with grand old churches.
• Ernest Hemingway penned a considerable chunk of For Whom The Bell Tolls at the Hotel Ambos Mundos. Peek inside, and you’ll see the author’s old typewriter.
• There’s a lot to discover in the galleries of the Museum of the Revolution. Highlights include the yacht that brought Che and co over to kick-start the revolution, and an exhibition detailing the alleged attempts on the leader’s life. More comical plots include exploding cigars and poisoned diving suits.
• For amazing views of the city, take the lift to the top of the José Martí Memorial in Revolution Square, Havana’s political hub.

When to visit

Peak travel season is Dec–May. Hurricanes are possible Jun–Nov. Carnival (Aug) has colorful street parades and a party atmosphere. The International Havana Ballet Festival (Oct, alternate years) is a renowned event running since 1960. The Havana International Jazz Festival (Dec) features large concerts as well as bands playing in cozy bars.

So is Cuba somewhere that is a must see for you?
