What does the name Hapag Lloyd mean to you?

Cargo and freight? Yes, me too, until a couple of weeks ago when I was asked if I would like to spend a few days on board one of their ships. I was horrified! I mean, why would CruiseDot send me on an old freight ship? What had I done to deserve this?
A few minutes and a ‘google search’ later my panic attack subsided as I discovered that Hapag Lloyd are market leaders in luxury cruising, The ship that I will be sailing on is described as ‘probably the most luxurious yacht in the world’.

The Europa 2 launched in May this year and takes only 516 guests on board. It offers the utmost comfort in modern, yet casual  surroundings. There is a relaxed atmosphere on board with a focus on personal service, high gastronomic standards, individual cruise programmes and excellent facilities.
My colleague Angie and I will be spending 2 days in Dubrovnik before we board the ship and once on board we will be cruising to Hvar, Rovinj and sailing among the Croatian 1000 Islands then over to Venice for two days. Exciting times!

Angie and I are are thoroughly looking forward to the whole adventure and we will be posting live daily updates from the ship to share all our thoughts and experiences with you ‘live’. We will also be videoing as we go and taking loads of photos to share with you on our return.
