U Legend Drew Wheddon!

In the early hours of Tuesday morning my dear friend and colleague, Drew Wheddon, lost his brave battle with cancer aged just thirty. He really was a ‘legend’, truly one of the kindest, funniest most loveable people I have ever had the privilege of knowing, and I shall treasure my memories of happy times spent with him, both in work and outside work, for as long as I live. He was one of those extra special people who don’t come along very often in life and I am going to miss him terribly.
He was larger than life in both stature and personality, and a born comedian. No other male member of staff at cruise.co.uk emails all the female staff in the office on his birthday asking them to form an orderly queue by his desk for ‘birthday kisses’ but of course Drew did, much to the amusement of the whole office. Nobody has ever made owning an alottment and venturing into the world of ‘growing your own’ such a topic of interest and amusement, Drew did – apparently his beetroots were unrivalled. And nobody, not even David Jason himself, could do ‘Mange Tout, Mange Tout’ like Drew – what was that all about? He made us laugh.
Always positive and proactive, Drew set up a charity to raise money for Sarcoma UK, a small charity that supports sufferers of this terrible disease and their families.
A number of my colleagues have been training for months to run in the Birmingham half marathon on October 21st to raise money for Drews charity, and now more than ever they want to do so so that all Drew had achieved already continues to make a difference, and his memory lives on.
I would be so grateful for any donation that anyone can make. My colleagues have trained so hard to support Drew and want to make as much money as possible for this really worthwhile cause.
