The Day the Olympic Torch came to Town..

I was up bright and early this morning and heading into Redditch town centre, home of cruise.co.uk, hoping to get a glimpse of the Olympic Torch as it passed through. I don’t think I have ever seen so many people heading up the hill past our office on a Sunday morning.
I met up with a few colleagues and we headed off to try to get a good spot (along with hundreds of other people!). The town was buzzing. A Samba Band was playing, kids with painted faces were waving flags and a chap with a very loud microphone was whipping everybody up and getting us into the spirit of the occasion.
After a long wait the Torch finally came into view………….. and then in the blink of an eye it was gone – just like that. I managed just the one photo!

So, that was it. My very brief Olympic experience. But you know what? I’m glad I saw it, because I’ll never have the chance to get that close to the Olympic flame in my life time again, and it was great to experience it. We at cruise.co could go to the opening of an envelope and have a great time!
