I’m off on another River Cruise!

As you may have noticed, I am a big fan of river cruising, so I was really thrilled when AMAwaterways contacted me recently to ask me if I would like to join them for three nights in August on their new longship, the AMAcerto. They didn’t need to ask me twice!

I shall be going with my colleague Naz who works in our Marketing Department and looks after the River Cruise products. We have flights from Birmingham, which is really great as the airport is only about twenty minutres drive for us, into Linz where we will join the ship, and then home from Nuremberg.
I am really interested to see how AMA compares with Avalon in terms of accomodation and service. As you know I could not find fault with Avalon so AMA have alot to live up to. Having said that I think that this is going to be a totally different type of river cruise experience as the ship is brand new and boasts five restaurants and a swimming pool on the sun deck with a swim up bar – sounds good to me. I may be found afloat!

Once again I shall be cruising along the Danube albeit in the opposite direction. The ports of call look great, and I am really looking forward to doing the World War Two excursion in Nuremberg as that is a period of history that fascinates me.

One thing that AMA offer is free use of bicycles at each port of call. They have about 100 on board the ship so I can only hope they have already been taken by the time I get there – cycling sounds far too energetic for me but I might give it a try just to say that I did – photos to follow.
