Happy Birthday to me!!

I have just had to most lovely weekend, courtesy of friends and family, celebrating my birthday. I was thoroughly spoiled by everyone with gifts, flowers, a party on Saturday night and lunch with my family yesterday.
Next years birthday though will be a ‘landmark’ birthday and I am dreading it! The big 50 – eek! Anyway, two friends also have their landmark birthdays next year so we have decided to celebrate jointly by booking ourselves a short cruise on the Adventure of the Seas in May visiting Bruges and Paris.
This afternoon another friend and her sister have also booked a cabin – the more the merrier I say!

Two of us have sailed before, but for the other three it will be their maiden voyage. I am so excited for them and just cannot wait to see their faces when we board. They will absolutely love it I’m sure.
We have booked Superior Deluxe Balcony cabins on Deck Nine as Royal Caribbean were offering a free upgrade from the standard balcony cabins, and we have booked Open Dining so we can just roll up to the restaurant when it suits us.
I have done ship visits on a couple of Royal Caribbean ships but never actually sailed on one so I am really looking forward to our little adventure on the Adventure.
These short cruises, four nights in this case, are an excellent way of trying out the ships if you are new to cruising. Long enough to get a feel for cruising before taking the plunge and booking a longer voyage.
