‘Getaway’ from it all of an evening……… the choice is yours!

It has been a week now since I was on Getaway so I have had time to absorb my thoughts about the ship and digest them. This always takes a while I think so having made my initial observations last week, what do I think one week on?
Well, I think that if you are to truly experience the ship and all that she has to offer you had better book for no less than 14 nights!
She is a ship of many options – so much to experience that you wouldn’t be able to do her justice in less than that. So much has been packed into each and everyone of her 145,000 tonnes.
With 27 dining venues and 22 bars and lounges, you can have lunch and dinner in a different venue each day, and enjoy two different entertainment venues most evenings!

There are 4 complimentary dining options – The Tropicana Room Restaurant, Taste, Savour and O’Sheehans Bar and Grill. For a surcharge you then have a choice of French, Brazilian, Italian, Sushi, Noodles, Wasabi, a steakhouse and on it goes. You may wish to reserve a table in the Illusionarium for dinner – be entertained by magicians, illusionists and mentalists while you dine! The choice is almost endless.
Then what to do after dinner? Maybe a stroll around the retail outlets for a spot of window shopping? Or if you have had an early dinner how about heading to the theatre to enjoy NCL’s very own production of Legally Blond, the lavish and lively musical.

For those who prefer a bit of audience participation try Headliners where you can enjoy ‘Howl at the Moon’ as you let out your inner rock star.  A brilliant Duelling piano show where guest are encouraged to participate – they will even supply you with maracas and tambourines!
Jazz fans will enjoy and evening at The GRAMMY Experience Bar, where a great jazz band belts out the tunes.

For those guests who are still feeling energetic as the evening progresses, why not join the cruise staff who will teach you fun and easy Salsa dance moves in the Bliss Ultra Lounge? Great fun I can tell you!
Armchair rockers might like to head to the Atrium Bar for a comfortable seat and some great music provided by Groove International. Everything from Marley to Motown.

When in warmer climes guests will be able to enjoy the outdoor bars – obviously this wasn’t an option for me in Southampton in January. Waves Pool Bar or Spice H2O zone would be great places to spend a balmy summers evening in the Caribbean, or how about The Waterfront? Just kicking back and relaxing as the sun sets over the sea.

If you fancy a flutter, Getaway has a huge casino which is typical of all American ships and there is a nightclub too for late-night partying into the wee small hours. No need to rush off to bed early is there because you can sleep it off on a sun lounger tomorrow morning! Oh, and if you are peckish and need something to eat before bed then O’Sheehans is open 24/7.
I have mentioned but a few of the options available on Getaway. She really is a fun ship with something for everyone. You really need to try her out and see for yourself!
