Carnival Time In Bonn and Cologne…………..

I’m off on my travels again, just for a few days, to join in the carnival fun in Bonn. The coming weekend is going to be full of fun and parades so I am really looking forward to it and will report back with photos on my return next week.
I haven’t really got to the bottom of what the celebration is all about but Thursday is ‘Womens Carnival Day’ and Sunday the ‘Storming of the Old Town Hall Day’ – sounds good fun! This video should give you an idea of the sort of thing that goes on:

While I am there I shall be wandering along the banks of the Rhine to see if I can spot any of my river cruise ships. It may be a bit early in the season for them as they don’t really start sailing until the end of March but I’ll keep a good look out just incase.
