Back from Carnival Weekend…………….

……and what a great weekend it was! The Germans certainly know how to have a good time. Everyone was in fancy dress, young and old alike and the atmosphere was fantastic – I bet there were some serious hangovers though!
While I was in Cologne on Saturday I wandered down to the banks of the Rhine but there was no sign of any river cruise ships – I wonder where they all go in the winter? If anyone knows please let me know as I am very curious.
Below are a selection of pictures that I took over the weekend. I know February is a strange time of the year for a carnival as the weather isn’t warm but this event is well worth a visit.
