No more checking your ‘look’ in the mirror on the way to dinner or reapplying your lipstick on the go, oh no, not any more! There are no mirrors in the lift on Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas. Lift decor has moved to another level altogether – we have artistic enhancements if you please. Granted, they are not what you would expect to find in a lift but they are different, quirky and slightly amusing. Guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
The pieces of art in the lifts are just one example of a range of wacky artworks on board Quantum, the most outstanding of which is the giant magenta bear standing high up by the rock climbing wall on the starboard side of the ship. These artworks are dotted around the ship, all of them having a very modern feel to them and most of them making you stop and think. Quantum definitely hasn’t gone down the traditional route when it comes to art!
I haven’t given up on my carpet fetish, they will follow in time, but I had to share this art with you first. There are sixteen lifts on Quantum and each one sports a different picture. I didn’t manage to capture them all but I hope you enjoy this selection. If you want to see the rest I suppose you will need to book a cruise on her won’t you!
