It’s A New Millennium

No I haven’t gone mad and started thinking we are in the year 1999 again or way in the future in the year 2999.  I am talking about the often forgotten Celebrity Millennium.

A lot of people might be shocked to still hear that Millennium is still part of the Celebrity cruise fleet, as she is now classed as one of their ‘older’ ships (having launched in the year 2000, hence the name), she is often out shined by her much larger and newer Solstice class sisters when people talk about Celebrity as a cruise line.

Well it is time for Celebrity Millennium to step out of the shadows and shine again as in January 2019 she will be going into dry dock to undertake a $70 million refurbishment as part of the Celebrity Revolution programme that will be rolled out to the entire fleet by 2023.  I have put some images below showing the proposed look for some of the areas for the ship and I am sure you will agree, she is going to be a stunning ship when she sails out of those docks.  Gone are the dark and gloomy lounges and cabins as she welcomes in new light and airy spaces more befitting the famous tag line of Modern Luxury,

I will be honest with you as the reader and say that when speaking with my customers about Celebrity Millennium previously, I did warn them that I considered her more of an itinerary ship rather than a ship ship.  What i would mean by that is that, due to her smaller size she is able to get to ports more ‘off the beaten track’ that her larger sister ships may not be able to get into.  She was a ship you sailed on because of the ittinerary she offered you, rather than all the bells and whistles that are offered on the Solstice Class of ship.

Well no more!  Come January she will be both an itinerary ship and a ship ship to shine bright in the Celebrity fleet.  For more information see the below link:
