Will she have the Edge?
I am sure that by now you will of heard and read about Celebrity Cruises new Ship, Celebrity Edge.
I was pleased to receive a booklet about her in the post a couple of weeks ago.
Now I know that all the cruise lines want to be the best and are finding more and extravagant ways in promoting their new ships, but I was very confused at first, to read that Celebrity Edge will be the world’s first cruise ship to be created in 3D – does that mean we will all have to walk around with those special glasses we get at the movies?
Only joking!
But it does sound as though Celebrity are pushing the boat out with their design team. Did you watch Dragon’s Den when interior designer Kelly Hoppen was a Dragon? Well, she is on board their team – she is celebrated for her ever developing interior design styles, clean lines, subtle design etc. She is joined with internationally acclaimed architect, Tom Wright, a key designer on the Burj Al Arab and Nate Berkus, who’s style has featured in Vogue and Elle Decor. So, I for one am excited to see what they come up with.
What else is different?
The size of the staterooms for one. The balcony staterooms will be 23% larger than the current Solstice class balcony rooms and let’s not forget the bathrooms – 10% larger, and I can’t wait to see what they mean by an infinite balcony in Concierge and Aquaclass?
If you are luck enough to book a suite, they sound fantastic – plunge pool, access to the stylish Retreat sun deck and lounge – sounds fantastic.
And what about ” The Magic Carpet ” ? – It all sounds a bit complicated but basically it is cantilevered, floating platform. It will reach 13 storeys above sea level. here you will be able to enjoy music, food and drink.
So, if what I have mentioned has whetted your appetite and you are wondering when the maiden voyage is – you don’t have to wait too long – 16/12/2018.
Let me know if you are interested in any of the features or the itineraries.
