Whatever you think of Ms McDonald I think she is having a positive effect on the cruise industry. I have had a number of customers mention that they have watched the series she has presented and enjoyed the look at the different styles of cruising on offer.

So it has come as no surprise that a few of the different cruise lines have decided to offer ” Celebrity ” guest artists on board.

One of the latest is Emerald Waterways – how do you fancy sailing on the Rhone with Tim Wonnacott, star of BBC’s Bargain Hunt and Antiques Roadshow discovering what antiques you can buy at the famous flea market of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.

Or, as we all heard a couple of weeks ago, out of work Brendan Cole ( I know – Strictly will not be the same without him ) instructing you on how  to perform the perfect Viennese Waltz whilst sailing between Passau to Budapest.

Fancy improving your culinary skills? Well there is a long list of cruises to choose from – spend time with Michel Roux Jnr as he joins Scenic Cruises from Marseille to Lyon, P & O Cruises who I think were one of the first to introduce celebrity chefs on board have a wide range of options – learn how to make fantastic Asian cuisine with Atul Kochhar, improve your deserts with Eric Lanard – there are lots of options available.

Princess Cruises have a number of cruises that have lined up a celebrity or two to keep you entertained – Harry Redknapp, Linda Gray – for those of you not old enough to remember she played Sue Ellen in Dallas! and being very topical, as the winter Olympics have just started, Eddie The Eagle will be on board a Scandinavia cruise on 01/09/2018.

Who said cruising was boring and there is nothing to do?
