Do you want the Norwegian Fjords or the Norwegian Fjords?
I have to say that the Norwegian Fjords are perhaps one of the most scenic places to visit in the world but I am feeling very underwhelmed that P & O’s newest ship, Iona will spend all of her inaugural cruise season in this beautiful part of the world.
There has been so much much hype about the largest ship that has ever been built for the UK market but honestly – all summer in the Fjords?
I honestly thought that there would be a mixture of itineraries to showcase what looks like being a magnificent ship. I am sure we have all seen the artists impression of the lovely cabins with port hole mirrors and furnishings in navy blue and gold, the imaginatively designed conservatory balcony cabins which can open up to give added space and enjoyment. So yes, I am feeling slightly miffed that she won’t be cruising to the Med.
But you know what? There is still a lot of interest but I wonder how they will manage to fill the ship every week? Don’t you?
But it’s not all about Iona – the rest of the fleet will be going on sale from 19th September and there are some great new choices, Arcadia will be offering a 30 night itinerary to Canada and New England in September 2020 which includes an overnight stop in Boston and 3 full days in New York. There will be more opportunities to see the Northern Lights as they will be offering itineraries at the end of the Summer. There are a number of maiden calls too – Arcadia calling into Fuerteventura, Oceana into Rovinj, Aurora into Saguenay to name just three. They have also extended the number of evening calls meaning the ship departs after 9pm – very exciting.
To encourage us to book early they are rewarding not just past passengers but newcomers too – so it’s all looking good.
If you want to know more about whats on offer pre registration is now open – give me a call and lets see what we can find for you.
