So this year we deciding on something completely different for our summer holiday, due to my partners work we are quite limited to time we can travel and thought where would we like to go
One place I had visited a few years back was Bangkok (Albeit for one day) and Thailand itself has always fascinated me, so we decided on making it our summer holiday destination
So we have traded our suitcases in for some very heavy backpacks and will head out for two weeks in South East Asia exploring what this amazing country has to offer
Our itinerary is as follows –
We are flying out of Manchester via Abu Dhabi with Etihad – having flown with the airline before to Australia and found the service to be fantastic we took advantage of booking our flights early on to ensure we got a good deal and the best connections so we don’t have to wait around during our transit for our second flight
Arriving Bangkok – I am really excited to see Bangkok and experience the sights and sounds of what the 3rd most visited city in the world has to offer – not only that we have booked a few really interesting experiences in Bangkok such as experiencing a live Muay Thai boxing match at the Rajadamnern stadium and sharing a morning with the Monks as well as visiting the key sites Bangkok is famous for
From Bangkok we will head West to Kanchipuram made famous by the film the bridge over the River Kwai, this is one of the most popular things to do in Thailand and is steeped in history dating back to the second world war. You can visit by train from Bangkok and the 2-hour train ride will cost you less than £2!
From here a trip out to the Erawan national park to visit the 7-tier waterfall and take advantage of the crystal blue waters and free fish spa! – it wouldn’t be a holiday without a little pampering
We will then fly to the resort of Koh Samui and Island hop to Koh Phangan, Krabi, Koh Phi Phi and Phuket before heading home
I look forward to telling you all about this amazing country on my return and if you are looking to Thai in this amazing part of the world with your next cruise and I will make sure to give you lots of hints and tips
