It was a cold bleak evening back in February my sister in Law came over for dinner after work and we got a talking about warmer climates and sunbathing together. A chance to get away from the cold damp UK climate and enjoy a brief change of scenery.
we got a great deal for less than £300 per person and jumped at the opportunity to get away as couples together which is something we very rarely get to do in our busy lives.
Mallorca did not disappoint full of lush green waters and cliffs the scenery and beaches are like no where else I have seen and it over delivered for a 5 night getaway.
We took a trip to Drakes caves and I was blown away by the history and feel of the place. I expected it to be chilly down there but I ended up taking my jacket off almost immediately.
As we ventured deeper into the caves we could see little pools of water and at the very bottom we were treated to some of the finest classical renditions of Mozart’s symphony which sounded fantastic. Boats carrying these wonderful instruments lined the cave and briefly sailed in and out before we got the opportunity to jump in one of the boats our self.
Then after climbing lots of steps to the summit we were hungry for lunch in the fine Marina of Porto Cristo, the restaurant owner was quick to tell us he had the finest chef in Italy cooking wood burning pizzas whist we would have a view of the Marina.
We jumped at the chance and had a fab day out chatting over fine wines. that’s what holiday is all about to me.
We got plenty of sun in the end the weather was a warm 24 degrees and we had to apply plenty of sun block I also wasn’t expecting that.
Have you been to Mallorca and if so what were your thoughts?
I hope you enjoy the pictures I shot.
