It’s that time once again! …..
So.. I have Detoxed once or twice before and if I am completely honest I have usually found it quite easy to get into the momentum of following the clean eating, detox plan and love the feeling of how you feel after a week or so, however recently I have had birthdays, family get together’s etc and have “Falling off the Band Wagon” as some may say. So I decided to “Have a word with myself” and my conclusion was, this is just not good enough.
I must say I do love my food and love cooking new recipes and of course at times enjoy a sneaky take away or two.. but its dawned on me just, how quickly you can start to feel sluggish, lethargic and might I say it, dame right UNHEALTHY!
I can not speak for you, but I know that it starts to get to that dreaded time of year where you are planning for Christmas parties & events and you know that dreaded day is coming where you have to put on that “Little Black Dress” and striking a pose for the millions of different cameras everyone has, then sharing all of those awful pictures you hate of yourself, around social media!
So this year I have made a decision simply because I am the only person who can change the way I feel, so I WILL make a change this year! No more moaning about things, I am going to start to change things NOW! Not TOMORROW! Not in the NEW YEAR! Just NOW!
I have binned all the bad food that I have in my house, and ordered all of the right food in. This way I can only but eat healthy. Yes I will have a day off plan every now and again, but Hey I am only human and we need these odd days off in order to feel great when we are on plan!
Detoxing does NOT mean “Not Eating” it just simply means eating the right types of food and including the right Fats for our bodies, that we can break down much more effectively. I cut out all Gluten in my diet and I am eating three healthy balanced meals a day, followed by two healthy snacks and three litres of water per day. If I am honest Water is definitely where I struggle. Sometimes it can get to 2pm in the afternoon and I haven’t even had one glass of water! (Who can relate to this?) This is really unhealthy for us. Water is what helps us to function each day, Water is what keeps our brain active, WATER is what can help you loose those extra lbs that we could have been struggling to shift! Of course this is when used in conjunction with a balanced healthy diet.
I have been asked many times if I get any headaches caused but eliminating caffeine from my diet and I am not going to lie, yes the headaches at the start can be awful, but 4-5 Days later you can feel absolutely amazing. NO.. bloating, holding onto excess water, back or neck pain seems to ease, no feeling sluggish anymore and my skin and hair feels great.
Have you been feeling like you need to make a change in your diet! Not even for weight loss but, just to feel healthier? Then why not get on that Detox and make that change now! Don’t start tomorrow, because TOMORROW NEVER COMES!
