A walk close to my heart!…
On the 2nd July 2017 I am going to be doing a 10k walk around London Bridge for Kidney Research in honor of a family member who sadly passed away last year. The walk itself will take us on a journey through some of London’s most iconic landmarks. The walk is being completed by myself and a few family members and we will be raising as much money to help raise more awareness for this wonderful charity. As we all know, life is so precious and should never be taken for granted and I think this becomes even more clearer when someone close to you is taken away from you so suddenly. I must say I am not a very active person normally and 10k is quite a way to walk for me, but I will be thinking of this family member the whole way through and know they will be watching down on us giving us the guidance to complete this walk all together.
When my husband and I found out about the charity walk we thought it would be a lovely idea to have a big family gathering afterwards to help celebrate such a, loving, caring person and celebrate in honor of them. In my spare time over the past few months both my husband and I have been putting together the finer details in place for this charity evening. I have never put a charity event on previously so it has taken some time reaching and I am really looking forward to helping raise money and awareness for such an important cause.
Have you ever organised a charity event? if so I would love to hear your comments and feedback on anything you feel would help others with there events too, such as raffle donations/ideas and any fun game/ ideas for the evening itself.
