At Cruise.co many people ask me where is the best destination you have traveled to and for sometime my response has been Santorini Greece.

With lush views over the Aegean Sea from the hustle and bustle of the volcanic houses, hotels and market towns it has such an incredible romance to it.

That was my preferred destination in the med and Greece in general until yesterday when on a land holiday to Rhodes Greece we took a boat trip to Lindos. It was our last full day on holiday and to be honest we was going to skip it. Everyone we met advised that its worth the boat trip over.

We were not disappointed. It was actually very similar to Santorini in terms of picturesque white washed houses built into the cliff-side as well as a maze of Labyrinth style streets built to confuse anyone who dare to invade. The donkeys are commuting people up and down whilst at the top you have perfect Greek cuisine from roof top garden restaurants all with a view over surely the finest beaches in Greece.

Some of the pictures we managed to capture in the midday sun are so crisp and i have never experienced waters so clear.

Its located just 50 minutes from Rhodes Island and people stay for a few nights at a time for the perfect relaxing beach retreat during their trip to Rhodes.

Weddings are popular here as are honeymoons on hired chartered yachts. There was no shortage of super yachts and glass bottom boats that navigate through ancient caves.

Next time you visit Rhodes or Kos try to book a day trip to Lindos. We traveled on Captain Mike’s 8 year old vessel and it allowed time for snorkeling in Anthony Quinn Bay as well as hot and cold drinks and snacks on board all for just €40. In Lindos you can eat great authentic Greek food low cost or spend a little more for a beach front or roof top terrace view.
