Well that time of year is nearly here where we all make new years resolutions that most will be broken within the first few days!
Mine this year will be the same as always to lose weight and eat more healthily. I normally restart this every week for the 51 weeks (Xmas week excluded) in a year! But I am determined to do it this year and have set myself a goal to be bikini ready for the summer. I came across an old photo from about 16 years ago and wondered where that slim girl had gone, so I have placed said photo on the fridge to remind me how I want to be…
Rather than waiting until January the 1st, I have decided to implement my new year resolution today. I haven’t gone cold turkey just yet on the sweet things as my cupboard is full still from Christmas but I shall be reducing the intake of Cadbury’s Dairy Milk and weening myself off of my only pleasure in life slowly over the next week. As surely it is a sin to let good chocolate go to waste?
Thankfully, I have work to keep me busy and I will be replacing my chocolate addiction with fruit whilst I am bound to my desk on a permanent basis for the next two months. With slimming shakes and porridge stocked up in the cupboard, I can at least save some money by stopping the one night a week take away meals and treats during the long month of January. It will not be easy but I know the end result will be worth it.
I’ve also decided to implement more exercise, I do walk my dogs 4 times a day and on average walk between 3-4 kilometers. But from this week, I shall be doing a slightly longer walk on their lunch time stroll to increase that step count nearer to the magic 10K. I may even dust off the cross trainer I purchased in April (that I have only used twice) and start using that daily too. But I don’t want to push myself to far just yet!
So if you have any planned New Years Resolutions you do this time intend to keep I really hope you stick to them too. Maybe it’s booking that cruise you keep promising yourself? Well you know where I am if you do decide to finally book that cruise….
Happy New Year to all my clients and readers and I wish you and yours all the best for 2018.
Dawn – soon to be much lighter in the coming months…
