In this blog I wanted to touch on something that one particular cruise line has the best market for – Cruise & Stay.
Now don’t get me wrong, we offer some superb cruise and stay packages which I covered in one of my recent blogs smart package, tailor-made and bucket list what they all mean
However, one particular British cruse line offers the opportunity for beach cruise and stay from a variety of ports around the world and throughout the year. From Majorca to Barbados, the choice is yours.
I am talking about Thomson Cruises.
For a few years they went off the radar and big agencies like ourselves, was no longer promoting selling them as their prices through an agent compared to the website was a lot higher. However, over the last couple of years and with some great negotiations, we are now in a position to sell as per the cost on the website. Great news for those Thomson Cruise fans whom love the way Thomson operate and are very loyal too.
Thomson over the last couple of years have grown too, they have purchased two former Royal Caribbean ships, offering their guests larger ships and more options of cabins and facilities, with a 3rd on the way next year. These new ships are all inclusive of drinks and gratuities too. They have got rid of the older dated ships such as the Island Escape, but they still have some of the favourites like the Dream and Spirit.
Thomson also (dependent on port) offer regional flights using their own airline. Great news for those who don’t want to have to travel to London or Manchester and can travel closer to home.
So how does it work?
Thomson offer 7 and 14 night cruise sailings – the 14 night sailings are back to back so return to the same port after the 1st 7 nights. The majority of the cruise embarkation ports are popular holiday destinations such as Palma, Majorca – Malaga – Corfu – Tenerife and for the Caribbean you can choose from Barbados, Jamaica or Dominican Republic.
Thomson offer the cruise & stay, depending on destination and departure airport, you can have 7 nights cruise and choice of 3, 4 or 7 nights resort stay. You can also do the reverse too, so stay first and then cruise for 7 nights. These are all with direct flights too.
Like the cabin options on a ship, they also offer a variety of apartments or hotel options with room and board choices from self catering to all inclusive, from 3 star to 5 star and even adult only.
So be it for a family, couple or a single traveller, Thomson are fast becoming a popular cruise line to work with.
Not only, in my opinion, do Thomson actually represent great value for money, considering their fly cruises include flights, transfers, gratuities and on some ships all inclusive drinks. They are also starting to compete with the market to offer bigger ships with the likes of Thomson Tui Discovery, Tui Discovery 2 and next year Tui Explorer. These ships are still relatively small in comparison to the new ships of Royal Caribbean, MSC or NCL but will offer all you want for a cruise.
