This week P&O Iona summer 2020 sailings went on sale and I have to say it was a very successful few days for P&O for the launch of their new ship. The maiden voyage on the 14th May 2020 is now virtually sold out. All Ocean view, balcony cabins and suites have sold with just inside cabins still remaining.
Fear not because if you still want to experience this brand new ship from P&O, then she will be operating 7-night sailings all through the summer season of 2020 to the Norwegian Fjords. Prices are also fantastic at the moment with the current launch promotion of 10% discount for past P&O guests and 5% discount for new P&O guests, then by booking through us here at cruise.co.uk we will also give you up to an extra 5% discount (subject to cabin category).
The rest of the 2020 P&O fleet go on sale next week and we expect this to be as successful with new itineraries and again great prices with lots of free child places available on many sailings.
However, this is not the ONLY new ship to be operating out of Southampton for 2020. There is competition with Celebrity Cruises and their brand new ship the Celebrity Apex. This will be the sister ship of the Edge which is due to come into service next year 2019. The Apex is due to sail from April 2020 and will be offering a variety of itineraries (yet to be confirmed) along with the Celebrity Silhouette again to be based from Southampton. I have to say, Celebrity has been a lot quieter than P&O in the launch of their new ship.
Apex is the second in Celebrity’s Edge-class and will be almost identical to the sister ship, including new features such as its Edge Villas, featuring outdoor plunge pools.
Celebrity Apex is due to go on sale from 29th November 2018. Keep an eye out on our website and facebook pages for more information.
So it will be a battle of the Brits against the Yanks and although both ships are going to be modern I am sure there will be many differences and experiences between the two.
Maybe you fancy trying both new ships for 2020?
