Fred Olsen Ship Boudicca Adds More Balcony Cabins

More balcony cabins are to be added to Fred Olsen Cruise Lines’ ship Boudicca as part of a revamp.

The work, which started on 18th November will see 28 cabins fitted with balconies.

The new terrace balcony cabins will extend out 1.2 metres from the ship’s bulkhead to give an increased choice of cost-effective balcony accommodation on the 880-passenger vessel.

The ship will undergo various engineering works, general refurbishment plus interior and exterior painting at the Lloyd Werft shipyard in Bremerhaven, Germany.

Boudicca has just returned to service yesterday and has departures from Tilbury in Essex.

The line’s managing director, Mike Rodwell, said: “We experience extremely high demand for balcony cabins across our fleet, in particular on a smaller-sized ship such as Boudicca, and our new terrace balcony cabins are an innovative response to this.

“We installed the new terrace balcony cabins on sister ship Black Watch during her dry dock last autumn, and these have proved very popular with our guests.”

Fred Olsen’s fleet of four ships – Balmoral, Braemar, Boudicca and Black Watch – will visit a record 253 destinations in 84 countries in 2016/17.
